GoDaddy smart terminal OS release notes

We're always working behind the scenes to add new features and improvements to your GoDaddy smart terminal! Check out the latest OS improvements below.

Your smart terminal OS automatically updates to the latest version. You can also manually update your device by tapping Settings, then Software Updates, and then Check for Software Updates.


Ver 1.24.05 (Released November 2024)

  • Smart Terminal home menu refresh

    The smart terminal home page has been updated with a new default background and new app icons. You can still personalize the background with a custom image.

  • Restock inventory with returned items

    When refunding an item, you now have the option to restock inventoried products. This prompt will automatically appear at the end of the refund process, for all eligible items. When prompted, adjust the item quantity and tap Confirm to restore returned items to your inventory count.

  • ISBN and EAN fields

    Values for ISBN and EAN can now be associated to your products. When adding or editing a product, tap UPC (under Product Details), then tap UPC, ISBN or EAN in the drop-down menu.

  • Online Ordering page

    You can now turn Online Ordering on or off through the Orders app on your smart terminal. Open the Orders app, then tap Icon with three horizontal lines Orders, and then Wheel-shaped icon Settings. Use the toggle to turn Online Ordering on or off. Turning Online Ordering Off will mean that your online ordering page and the products sold are still visible, but online ordering is not available.

  • Offline Payments Enhancements

    We’ve made enhancements to the Register App, Orders app and inventory management so that you can now accept credit and debit card payments when your smart terminal is offline or has an unstable internet connection.   • New accessory support
    Additional accessories are now supported with GoDaddy smart terminals:
    • We now support two new barcode scanners, Zebra and Unitech USB-based scanners.
    • We now support three new external printers, TSP100IV Star printer, EPSON TM-m30III, Epson TM-T20III.

  • General improvements to usability and performance.

Ver 1.24.03 (Released October 2024)

  • Catalog app 3.2

    • The option to switch the Sell in Person feature on or off has been added to the Catalog app. Check out the Catalog app release notes for a full description of the changes.

  • Real-Time Inventory and Catalog sync

    • After you make a sale on your POS device, in the mobile app, or through your online store, your inventory count will automatically sync and update across platforms. The Point of Sale Plus plan is required for on-device inventory notifications.

  • Sale pricing

    • Product sale prices can now be added through the Catalog app on the smart terminal. Sale pricing will apply to purchases made online or in-person, while the product is on sale.

  • Online Order Customer Details

    • Customer email and phone number are now included in Order Details, within the Orders app.

  • General improvements

    • General improvements to usability and performance.

  • Catalog app 2.1

  • Auth-only transactions

    Create auth-only transactions to open an order and incrementally increase the authorized charge amount until your customer is ready to pay.

  • Receipt Settings

    You can automatically print a copy of your customer receipts after every order. To adjust receipt settings, tap Settings, and then Receipt Settings.

  • General improvements to usability and performance.

Ver 1.23.02-524 (Released March 2023)

  • Receipt changes
    The following improvements have been made for customer receipts:
    • Printed receipts will include the customer's name if one was associated with the order.
    • You can now preview receipts with your business info included. To see a preview receipt, tap Settings, and then Receipt Settings.
  • Network Settings

    The Network Settings now include additional network information, including the device's IMEI number. The IMEI number is sometimes required to install a SIM Card into the Poynt V3.0 Smart Terminal.

    To access the Network Settings, tap Settings, and then Network Settings. The IMEI Number is located under Connection.
  • Order search
    You can now search for orders by customer name in the Orders app.
  • General improvements to usability and performance.

Ver 1.22.09-003 (Released November 2022)

  • Receipt Settings
    All receipt format and printer settings have been combined. To adjust receipt settings, tap Settings, and then Receipt Settings.
  • Sticky label printer support

    The smart terminal now supports sticky label printers. (The Easy Labels app is required.) Please review the recommended printers and accessories.

  • IMEI Number

    The IMEI Number is now accessible on the smart terminal. This number is sometimes required to install a SIM Card into the Poynt V3.0 Smart Terminal. To find the IMEI Number, tap Settings, and then About.
