Using Online Pay Links

Create, share, and manage Online Pay Links (a free feature with GoDaddy Payments) through your Payments Hub. With Online Pay Links, you can generate links to share via social media, email or text, and have your customers pay easily online.

Most GoDaddy accounts come with GoDaddy Payments enabled, so you can quickly begin accepting payments through Online Pay Links. To have your funds directly deposited into your bank account, simply complete the one-time setup process and link the bank account where you’d like your funds.

Note: The Invoicing and Pay Links Plus plan is required to add customer billing and shipping addresses to online pay links, and includes a range of other features such as lower transaction fees, expanded digital receipt branding, customized web user roles, and more.

Generate and share a customized Online Pay Link to accept payment for anything you like. The link creates a webform that customers can use to make payments easily. You can also create Online Pay Links from within your Websites + Marketing website by editing the action button.

  1. Sign in to the Dashboard where you manage GoDaddy Payments (use your GoDaddy username and password). If this is your first time creating a pay link, select Get Started and follow the provided tutorial.
  2. Select Pay Links.
  3. On the Links tab, select Create Pay Link.
  4. Fill in the Title and Description fields.
  5. Under Image, select Upload image to add a JPG or PNG image file.
  6. Enter the Price you want to charge.
    • To enter a fixed amount, type any price of $1 or more.
    • To let your customer set their own price, turn on the Allow customer to set a price toggle.
    • To have your customer choose from a list of options, select Add Option, and then add up to four additional prices. If you’d like, you can enter a Title for each price.
  7. Adjust the Advanced Settings, if applicable:
    • Notes: Turn on Make Notes Required to prevent payments without transaction info. Your customer fills out this field when they submit payment.
    • Tips: Turn on Ask customer to add a tip to enable tips. (You can adjust tip options in your general GoDaddy Payments settings.)
    • Billing and shipping addresses(premium plan required): Turn on Collect customer’s addresses to add a customer billing and/or shipping address field to the pay link. You can make these required or optional.
  8. Under Custom Link, enter alphanumeric characters to customize the URL for your pay link. The words you enter will appear at the end of the URL.
  9. Select Create Link to finish.
  10. Use any of the following methods to share your Online Pay Link:
    • Select Copy Link to create a link that you can share with others.
    • To post the link on social media, select the social media outlet where you’d like to share.
    • Select Download to download a QR code image that you can save, share or print. Customers can scan this QR code and pay you directly.
      • Select Download branded QR code for a branded, customized image featuring the QR code. The template is customized in the Settings tab.
      • Select Download QR code only to download the QR code by itself with no customization or branding.
    • Below Send Text Message, enter your phone number and select Send Link.

Note: Each time a customer makes a payment with an Online Pay Link, you’ll receive an email that includes the amount of the transaction, the customer’s name and any notes the customer added.
