Process a pickup order on a GoDaddy smart terminal
When a customer places a pickup order, use the GoDaddy smart terminal to let them know when their order is ready, process their payment and complete the order when your customer comes to pick it up.
An alert will appear on the smart terminal whenever a customer places a new pickup order. (To adjust this alert, open the Orders app, then tap Orders, and then Settings. Switch the toggle to turn online order notification or sound on/off.)
Note: You’ll need to set up the local pickup shipping method in your Websites + Marketing or Managed WordPress Ecommerce online store if you’d like to offer this option to customers. Orders delivered through standard shipping methods (like UPS) are fulfilled through your online store’s dashboard.
Step 1: Locate, prepare and order for pickup
Use the Orders app in your smart terminal to find new pickup orders and let your customer know when their order is ready.
- From the smart terminal home menu, tap Orders.
- Tap the Status dropdown and check the box next to Open. Tap Apply.
- Tap the Types dropdown and check the box next to Pickup. Tap Apply.
- A list of all open pickup orders will appear, with the pickup time displayed (if the customer selected one). Tap an order to open the order details.
- Prepare the order for your customer, then select Mark Ready. This will automatically notify your customer that their order is ready to pick up.
Step 2: Complete a pickup order
When your customer picks up their order, process their payment and release the order.
- From the smart terminal home menu, tap Orders.
- Tap the Status dropdown and check the box next to Ready. Tap Apply.
- Tap the Types dropdown and check the box next to Pickup. Tap Apply.
- A list of all ready pickup orders will appear. Tap an order to open the order details.
- If the order is Unpaid, process the customer’s payment. (If the order is Paid, skip this step.)
- Tap Charge.
- Tap the payment method field in the upper-right corner and select the customer’s payment method (Credit, Cash, Manual Entry, etc.).
- Follow the onscreen prompts to process the customer’s payment.
- On the customer-facing screen, the customer can select their preferred receipt method (No Receipt, Paper Receipt, Email or Text).
- Tap Mark Picked Up to complete the pickup order.
