GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex Help

My GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex isn't powering on

You can charge the GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex by plugging it directly into a wall outlet with the included USB-C power adapter. If your device won’t power on or hold a charge, try the troubleshooting steps below.

Note: If you’re using a GoDaddy Poynt Smart Terminal (instead of a Smart Terminal Flex), follow our steps for troubleshooting power issues on the GoDaddy Smart Terminal.

We recommend completing the steps in the following order until you find the one that resolves your issue.

Step 1: Verify the battery is installed correctly

  1. Make sure the smart terminal is powered off and the power cord is disconnected.
  2. Turn the terminal upside down and open the battery cover on the bottom of the system.

  3. Insert the battery plug into the socket. If it's already connected, disconnect the plug and reconnect it again to make sure the connection is tight.

  4. Place the battery in the battery compartment and replace the battery cover.

Step 2: Check the power cord connections

Verify that everything is connected securely and that there isn’t any damage to the power cord and USB connectors.

Note: If there is damage to the power cord, that’s likely the culprit. Purchase a replacement USB-C power cord to see if that resolves the issue.
  1. Connect the power cord to the smart terminal and plug it into a wall outlet.

  2. Wait until the screen is blank (no icons appear), and then press and hold the power button for about three seconds to turn on the smart terminal.

  3. If everything is connected correctly and there’s no power to the system, try plugging the power cord into a different wall outlet or power source.

Step 3: Charge the battery

  1. Allow the smart terminal to fully charge (usually about 2.5 hours) while connected to a power source. While it’s charging, you can lightly tap the power button on the side of the device to see the current battery charge.
  2. Once the smart terminal has fully charged, press the power button on the side of your device for at least three seconds to turn it on.
