Set file or directory permissions in my Web Hosting (cPanel) account

Use the cPanel File Manager to set different permissions for each file and directory in your Web Hosting (cPanel) account. In this way, you can control who has access to your files and what actions they can perform on files within those directories. For more information, see .

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Under Web Hosting, next to the Web Hosting (cPanel) account you want to use, select Manage.

  3. In the upper left corner of the account Dashboard, select File Manager.

  4. In the cPanel File Manager, navigate to the file or directory whose permissions you want to modify, and then select Permissions.
  5. Make changes as needed, and then select Change Permissions.
