Can I sell the designs I create?
Yes! But before you sell a design you’ve created using GoDaddy Studio, make sure you understand our Website Services Agreement. Here are the key points:
There's a limit of 400 end units
The limit for commercial use of anything with a graphic, font, video, template, layout, or Unsplash/Pixabay image is 400 end units - for example, up to 400 physical T-shirts or digital wallpapers.
Note: This doesn’t mean you can change the color of the graphics and sell another 400 units. Each item, regardless of the color (graphic, font, image, template from GoDaddy Studio), can only be sold 400 times.
You need an extended license to sell more than 400 end units
If you’d like to sell more than 400 units of a physical or digital design, you’ll need to acquire the relevant extended licenses for the different elements used.
These are the steps we recommend you follow:
- Send a copy of your design (screenshot, pdf, etc.) to gdstudio-curation@godaddy.com.
- List the names of the specific elements in your design, for example fonts, graphics, images, and videos from our libraries. If you can't find these, let us know what you searched for.
We’ll put you in contact with the designer of the elements you've used. You can then negotiate or purchase the extended license from them. As such, costs vary depending on the designer.
Your creation needs to be a “unique implementation"
This means you’ve taken the piece of content and created something unique. As explained in our Website Services Agreement, it needs to be “significantly different than the original piece of Service Content and require time, effort, and skill to produce.”
