GoDaddy Payments Help

Add or update my debit card in my GoDaddy Payments account

If your bank account doesn't support real time payments (RTP), you can use your debit card to enable Same-Day payouts and receive funds. Here's how to add or update a debit card in your GoDaddy Payments account.

Note: If your bank account supports RTP, you will not be able to add a debit card. Instead, you should use your bank account for the Same-Day payouts.

Add a debit card

When you enable Same-Day payouts and we recognize that you will not be able to use your bank account to receive funds, you'll be automatically prompted to add your debit card to your GoDaddy Payments dashboard.

Note: If you previously added a debit card and your bank account supports RTP, you can choose which payout method you want to use for Same-Day payouts. On the Payouts settings page, in the Payout Speed section, and under Same-Day, select the preferred payout method from a Transfer to drop-down menu and then select Save. We recommend using a bank account as a preferred payout method.

Update a debit card

Once you have successfully added your debit card to be used for Same-Day payouts, follow the steps below if you need to update it.

  1. Go to the Dashboard where you manage your GoDaddy Payments account (use your GoDaddy username and password).
  2. From the left-nav, select Settings and then Payments (if prompted).
  3. From the top-nav, select Payouts.
  4. In the Payout Methods section, under Debit Card, select Change Debit Card.
  5. When prompted for verification, enter the number of the bank account connected to your dashboard and select Continue.
  6. Enter the debit cardholder's information (Entity Type, Date of Birth and Nationality) and select Next.
  7. Enter the debit card info to the corresponding fields and then select Add.

Errors when adding or updating a debit card

When adding or updating your debit card, you may encounter errors such as Debit Card Failed Validation or Credit Card Not Supported. If you get these errors, try the following:

  • Check if your debit card has expired.
  • Check if you entered the info in the correct format and try again.
  • Try another debit card. In rare cases, some debit cards are not supported (for example, if they can't receive payments), so using another card can resolve the issue.
